As reported in the October 15 issue of TMS Enews, The Masonry Society has approved and has now published a 2016 edition of Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures (TMS 402/TMS 602-16) and three new Cast Stone Standards (TMS 404/504/604-16). These new publications should be available in the next few days, and back orders will immediately be processed. For information on these standards, click the links above.

In addition, the second public comment period (required as a result of changes made to the standards as a result of the initial public comment period) closed at the end of November. No additional public comments were submitted on the Cast Stone Standards. One Public Comment (see link below) was submitted on TMS 402/602 and this has been added as immediate new business item for the Committee. Once the TMS 402/602 Committee has considered the Public Comment, responded to it, and if needed, made any changes as a result of the public comment, the response and changes will be reviewed by TMS’s Technical Activities Committee, and if approved, will be made available to the public. For more information on this process, or to participate in the consideration on this Public Comment or other business of the Committee, plan to attend the Spring meetings of TMS and the Committee.
