TMS Service Awards to Julie McMillian

During the Member/Guest Reception of The Masonry Society’s Spring Meetings, the Society presented a special 2019 Service Award to Julie McMillian for her assistance in updating the Employee Handbook.Jamie Farny of the Portland Cement Association, who serves as TMSs Chair of its Administrative Committee Team presented the Award noting: “During 2018, Julie McMillian assisted the Executive Committee of The Masonry Society with reviewing, revising and enhancing its Employee Handbook – something that had needed updating for a number of years. Thanks to her expertise in Human Resources and understanding of Employer Requirements and Law, the Handbook was completed. She assisted with resolving a number of complicated and seemingly conflicting issues, while providing counsel on what other not-for-profit organizations do for their employees. Her knowledge and guidance helped provide information to TMS leaders so they had a basis to make educated decisions that were reasonable to the Society and employees. Because of her voluntary contributions and reviews, Julie is most worthy of a TMS Service Award.”

A complete listing of past Service Award winners, along with a Nomination Form, is posted here. TMS accepts nominations for the Service Award until June 30th of each year.
