Masonry Education Hub Under Development

The Masonry Society (TMS) has begun development of a Masonry Education Hub and Learning Management System to allow designers, professors, students, and other users to obtain on-demand masonry education thanks to generous support from the National Concrete Masonry Association Foundation (NCMA Foundation) and Western States Clay Products Association (WSCPA). The Masonry Education Hub will be hosted on the TMS website to provide a central location for excellent and accessible training session on a variety of masonry topics in a number of online formats (YouTube type videos, recorded Webinars, Night School classes, University courses, etc.). It is being created in response to the request to provide users of masonry systems with a central system to learn more about masonry, find resources on masonry, and to track educational hours (AIA Learning Units (LUs), Continuing Education Units (CEUs), and Professional Development Hours (PDH)) they may need for their own credentials (licenses).

Due the high cost to develop the Hub, TMS solicited sponsorship over the summer, and the NCMA Foundation and Western States Clay Products Association, have generously pledged funds to assist in the development. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for organizations wishing to support the Hub.

A preliminary public site for the Hub has been developed and is currently being reviewed. The administrative area for the Hub is being tested by TMS staff related to uploaded course content, developing quizzes, if so required, to assist instructors on uploading and developing content, and to ensure users can easily obtain information and credits wanted. Educational content for the Hub is under development with the hope of initially debuting the website late this fall or early in the spring. For additional information on the Hub, to pledge support for this important project, or to volunteer to test the system, contact TMS by emailing at info@masonrysociety.org.
