TMS Awards Outstanding Thesis and 2 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Awards at 13NAMC
During the Awards Banquet at the 13th North American MAsonry Conference on June 18, 2019 in Salt Lake City, the Research Committee of The Masonry Society (TMS) presented the following awards:
2018 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Awards
- Ala’ Taleb Mufleh Obaidat at Concordia University for “Compressive Behaviour of C-shaped Confined Masonry Boundary Elements” under the direction of Dr. Khaled Galal
- Savvas Saloustros at Technical University of Catalonia for “Tracking of localized cracks in the computational analysis of masonry structures” under the direction of Dr. Luca Pelà and Professor Miguel Cervera
2018 Outstanding Master’s Thesis
- Hannah Keelson at Carleton University for her work “Fire resistance quantification of non-load bearing masonry walls – numerical study” under the Direction of Professor Ehab Zalok
