Mission & Scope

Identify technical issues needing additional research. Monitor and report on the status of current masonry research. Promote masonry research.

Goals

Provide for the continued improvement of masonry materials, design, analysis, and construction technology by providing a forum for the publication of quality research in these areas.

Current Activities

Research Development & Dissemination
  • Develop a program for converting research into design practice recommendations
  • Develop access to sources of available research information
  • Report research through the TMS Journal and the North American Masonry Conferences
  • Prepare and submit for review a series of monographs on masonry research topics
Recognition & Awards
  • Nominate and select the winners of the John B. Scalzi Research Award
  • Nominate and select the winners of the Outstanding Student Thesis Award
