Poster Competitions FAQ

What size should my poster be?
Poster dimensions must be 22x28 inches.

Is there an abstract deadline/preliminary stage for the posters?
No. The only submission is the final posters.

Can the same graduate student both have a technical paper/presentation and a poster submission?
Yes. The requirements and deadlines are different for the two. To be considered for publication, all paper deadlines must be adhered to and all steps must be completed through the paper portal. The same student is welcome submit also a poster on a different topic or a different focus/scope from the same project.

Do I have to be enrolled as a student at the time of conference to be eligible for the poster competition or the student first author paper award?
No. You must be enrolled as a student at the time of the submission of the poster/paper, but if you graduate before the conference, that is okay.

Do I have to register and attend the conference to be considered for either the best paper award or the poster competition?
If you become a finalist for the poster competition, you will be invited to attend the conference and present your poster. Scholarships may be offered at the time as well. If you cannot attend, your entry will be considered withdrawn.

For paper awards: As long as you (the student) are the first author of the paper and one of the co-authors register/present, you will still be eligible—but we would highly encourage you to attend the conference!
